Rays of Peace Traffic Calming Art
Project Background
The Rays of Peace traffic calming pavement art project is a testament to the peaceful connections shared among members of the greater Hyattsville community and a celebration of the positive energy radiating from the nearby Heurich Park. During Hyattsville’s 138th Anniversary Celebration received community input from the public by asking them to draw their own ideas for street art welcoming people to the park. Numerous residents drew symbols of peace and love.
Taking by residents’ drawings, Rays of Peace features a large peace sign anchoring the mural and concentric bands of teal, pink, red, and purple reverberating into the community.
